First topic message reminder :

After like an hour after I read these articles, I felt like I had to come on here and address it to you guys as well. A well-known Winx blogger: "Una Doni Winx" has started a campaign for Aisha since her birthday is in 10 days because this problem is revolving around a scene in Season 1 Episode 12: "Miss Magix" where a black girl is crying because her hair is in an afro when it wasn't suppose to be like this.

A blogger who brought this up said that it's saying to younger black girls that their natural hair isn't beautiful and said that the character is Aisha in the episode(Who's my favorite character from Winx). Some critics agree with her and are demanding that Winx should be taken off of Netflix because of the message that they think is been sended.

Some other Winx fans are very angry at this woman for saying this saying that she's misinformed and hasn't even watched the episode clearly enough it understand what's going on.

I've talked to 3 of my friends about this (One of them who watched Winx when it first aired) and all 3 of them including me, say that this is just ridiculous and stupid and should've never been brought up in the first place. I've also said to them that if people have such a problem with it, they've should have said something back when this episode aired which aired back in 2004.

What do you guys think about this problem? Do you agree that this is just ridiculous and that the blogger should have done more research in the episode and actually watched it figure out what was actaully happening in the episode?

Here's the link to the first article that I read, I'll post the other one as soon as I know that one of the words in the link is ok to be on the forum for this kind of thing.

At least Winx fans still love the show and cannot be moved by these type of clearly foolish claims. That crazy lady needs to take her observations and turn them on herself. That's just me though

Yeah. The woman thought "Oh! That's Aisha" without doing the bases of double checking the evidence of that scene. But we are ALL coming together to kick some behind.

Yeah, the numbers of Winx fans WAY outnumbers the number the people who are against the show and want it taken down because they think it's a bad example for children

If they were smart, they would've taken that episode down (it was a filler ep anyway).

to be honest, I can turn on the nickelodeon, cartoon network, teen nick, any thing directed at any one under the age of 18... sit there for all of maybe one segment and claim 'this is setting a bad example for our kids" without reading into the story or anything of that nature, but I think that that's a huge waste of time because parents should be talking to their children and be involved in the media they consume because in the words of Eminem

I mean parents are there to police their kids and raise them up, not me, not this lady, not the government, not the schools, but the parents. so if parents were responsible for what their kids watched and consumed in the way of media and talked it over with them, we wouldn't be having this discussion now would we?

That was the reason that all of this hoo ha happened. It's because of a parents concern, but took it in a different light. This would be still be discussed either way. Yes, it's the parents' choice to what to watch, but if something like comes up, poop hits the fan so hard. This is nothing related to someone being responsible, or how they raise their kids, it's about one PARENT'S view who got it totally wrong.

Yes, they did. BIG TIME. parents (and everyone else) research a show before you just fly off the hook like this
